Conditions weren’t ideal for the Warriors but they still managed to place well across the board.
On Friday and Saturday, the track and field team traveled to the first ever Glendale Vaquero Invitational.
“Both days were pretty wet with steady drizzle and some downpours at times” coach Dean Lofgren said.
- Sophomore Syrea Hicks placed first in both the women’s 100-meter hurdles and the women’s triple jump.
- Freshman Nicole Clark placed first in women’s javelin and is number one in this event in Southern California.
- The men’s 1600-meter team placed first while the men’s 4×400 meter team placed third.
- Freshman Solomon Kanehailua placed second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
- Freshman Maurice Jones placed third in the men’s 400-meter hurdles.
- Freshman Travis Heinemann placed second in men’s javelin.

Lofgren said that a small part of the team will travel to the Cal. State Long Beach Invitational on April 15.
