The El Camino beach volleyball team (1-0) swept the visiting Cypress College Chargers (0-1), 5-0 in the first match of the day on Friday.
EC lost just one set throughout five matches and came out looking to start the season on a bright note.
“It’s a good way to start off strong, great actually,” No. 5 pair player Jewel Yandall, sophomore, said.

- No. 5 Yandall and Brooklyn Rubio win 21-12 and 21-16.
- No. 4 Jessica Dow and Victoria Curtice win 21-13 and 21-13.
- No. 3 Brooke Russell and Taylor Brydon win 21-18 and 21-7.
- No. 2 Michelle Shimamoto and Nickeisha Williams win 21-13 and 21-13.
- No. 1 Laynie Thompson and Sadie Fraker win 21-16, 27-29 and 15-12.
