Down 1-0 in the seventh inning, the Warriors offense stepped up to the challenge, scoring four runs in the final inning for a 4-1 comeback win over host East L.A. College on Tuesday.
The El Camino softball team picked up its second win in conference play and improved to 8-6 overall.
Coach Jessica Rapoza said the team did a good job of sticking with the game plan and played every inning as a new inning.
“We had a number of players who made mistakes early, but came back and contributed in big ways later in the game,” Rapoza said. “We are getting more mature as a team and beginning to realize that one mistake doesn’t break us.”
The Warriors are back in action when they host Long Beach City College on Thursday. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
