The Animation Guild will host the Animation Festival on Thursday, May 23 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Campus Theatre.
Alexis Acosta, 21-year-old animation major and president of the Animation Guild, said the festival is a film event created to demonstrate students’ work.
“This film festival is open to all El Camino [College] students and this is about showcasing their artwork in a theater with other El Camino students,” Acosta said.
The Animation Guild encourages student animators to send in submissions for a film reel. Those chosen will be presented at the event.
Students of all skill levels who want to showcase their films, including those who are not part of the Animation Guild, can submit them through the QR code found on flyers for the event.
Attendees of the event can expect to see funny, sad and emotional short films created by El Camino students.
The event will be free of charge for anyone interested in attending.
