The El Camino beach volleyball team’s match against Orange Coast College on March 16 was rescheduled until next Wednesday, March 23, the EC head coach said.
“Both schools had spring break,” Le Valley Pattison, El Camino coach, said.
Sophomore Brooke Russell said that the team was told its match would be on Friday.
“I didn’t even know we were supposed to have a match today (March 16),” she said.
Sophomore Jewel Yandall said the team has practice tomorrow in preparation for Friday’s matches against Rio Hondo and Antelope Valley colleges.
“Our coach (Pattison) trusts us with working out on our own and I’m pretty sure everyone (else) has been (too),” Yandall said.
The match vs. Antelope Valley on Friday is scheduled as the first-conference match of the season, and Yandall said that the team has to be more energetic going into the match.
“When we make a good play or get a point, (the team) is kind of just like (nonchalant) instead of being super excited and loud like how we usually are during indoor (volleyball),” she said. “It brings a lot more heat and intensity.”
