The El Camino men’s volleyball team (3-4) acquired a much needed win on the road against San Diego Miramar College (0-5) last Friday.
“They were a were a weaker team,” freshman setter and opposite hitter Pedro Campos said.
Offensively, EC had 30 kills with only 13 errors led by freshman outside hitter Jordan Banez’s six kills on nine attacks and no errors (.667 hitting percentage) compared to Miramar’s 23 kills and 17 errors, led by Anthony Carrasco’s eight kills on 16 attacks and four errors.
Service errors continue to be a problem as the Warriors racked up 10 of them compared to Miramar’s zero total.
The team played 16 out of the 20 total players in the win, although sophomore middle blocker and co-captain Peter Nordel is out until the Wednesday, March 2 conference opener at Moorpark College.
