The men’s basketball team (5-19 overall, 2-5 in the South Coast Conference) traveled to Long Beach City College to try to split the conference series, but things didn’t go as planned as they lost 97-83 on Friday.
EC head coach Robert Uphoff felt like officials were calling an unfair game the whole night.
“It’s just sad and unfortunate that our team couldn’t get a fair shake,” Uphoff said.
EC was called for 37 fouls while Long Beach only had 17 fouls. Uphoff added that it felt like his team never had a chance to win as the officials were determined not to let it happen.
Freshman foward Da’Koda Lacey led the team in scoring with 16 points and eight rebounds followed by freshman guard Tristan Egans with 13 points, four rebounds and three assists.
The Warrior’s final game of the season will be at home on Feb. 17. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
