El Camino’s men’s basketball (4-17 overall, 1-3 in the South Coast Conference) lost 75-62 when the team traveled to Long Beach City College Friday.
Coach Robert Uphoff said the team had spurts of energy, but didn’t show up until the second half.
“Unfortunately, we just didn’t put together 40 minutes of ‘real effort,'” Uphoff said.
Despite the loss freshman Da’Koda Lacey and freshman guard Isiah Armstead had another solid outing as Lacey finished with 13 points, nine rebounds, two steals and two blocks; while Armstead finished with 25 points and seven rebounds.
With the Warriors traveling to L.A. Harbor College on Feb. 5 Uphoff said that the team needs minimize mistakes and post play needs to improve for the team to finish the season with more wins.
“We’re going to need to compete with a lot more effort and heart for the entire 40 minutes,” Uphoff said.
