After a season full of struggles in 2015, the men’s tennis team looked confident and ready to take down the Fullerton College Hornets (1-0) in the first match of the season on Wednesday.
However the confidence would go unrealized as the El Camino (0-1) squad would lose 6-3 in overall points.
The Warriors would win just 1-of-3 doubles matches and 2-of-6 singles matches.
The Warriors had a chance to even the singles matches as Louis Tanada played a very close match but in the end several errors cost him the match as he lost 6-1, 5-7, 8-10.
“It was a lot of pressure for me and I made small mistakes that I wouldn’t normally make,” Tanada said.
Despite the loss, the team must look ahead to its match against Saddleback College on Feb. 2.
