Despite the heat, the men’s soccer team came away with a 1-1 tie

It was hot, it was humid and temperatures
reached well over 100 degrees.
The men’s soccer team played 77 minutes until they were finally able to break through the heat when Kyrian Nwabueze scored in the 78th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
The excitement was short lived when San Bernardino got an equalizing goal 9 minutes later. The game ended in a 1-1 tie, but based on the heat some felt like it wasn’t their best performance.
“I didn’t play a good game,” Angel
Lomeli said. “The heat had something to do with my performance.
This game had a little extra excitement for the team when they found out the game was going to
be shown on television.
“It got the players adrenaline flowing and
got the players pumped up” coach John Britton said.
Due to the weather conditions some freshmen also saw some early action you normally may not have played, but Britton found himself pleased with the team’s performance even though they weren’t able to pull out the victory.
“We created a lot of chances,” coach
John Britton said.
The Warriors will look to get in the win column
when they travel to Golden West today at 3:00 pm.
