Coming off the heels of their comeback victory against Mount San Antonio College, the softball team traveled to Robinson Park in Pasadena to battle against the Pasadena City College (PCC) Lancers on Thursday.
The Warriors defeated the Lancers 9-3. El Camino had a big second inning scoring six runs. A hit by sophomore catcher Gabby Fordiani in the second inning when she doubled to right field allowed sophomore center fielder Kristen Romero, sophomore short stop Tori Garcia and designated player Samantha Lauro to score.
The Warriors scored three more runs in the second inning bringing the score to be 7-1. The Lancers scored two more runs in the fifth inning and EC scored again the sixth when Trejo reached first base on a fielder’s choice. Romero got out on second and Garcia was able to score.
Fordiani had three RBIs, sophomore third baseman Danielle Bonsky had two RBIs, and freshman Sierra Gabriel had seven strikeouts on the mound.
The Warriors are number one in their conference, are on a five-game winning streak and are 14-1 on their conference. Their next game is on April 7 at home against the Compton College Tartars at 3 p.m.
