The softball team split in Fullerton when they faced L.A. Valley and Fullerton College on Saturday.
EC lost in the first game 4-3 against the Fullerton College Comets which broke the Warriors’ four-game winning streak.
In the second game EC bounced back, when they beat the L.A Valley Monarchs 7-1 in seven innings.
The Warriors got off to a slow start scoring only one run early in the L.A. Valley game. By the third inning the both sides were tied 1-1.
EC had a big fifth inning, as they scored five runs that clinched the lead. Sophomore first baseman Danielle Bonsky, sophomore catcher Gabby Fordiani, and sophomore second baseman Marissa Padillia were among those to score. The Warriors had six RBIs and pitcher Sierra Gabriel had four strikeouts.
In the sixth inning, Bonsky grounded to second, Fordiani advanced to third, and sophomore outfielder Kirsten Romero ran home to score.
The Warriors’ next game is a conference home matchup against Pasadena City College, March 10 at 3 p.m.
