EC continued their winning streak after beating conference leaders, Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC), 9-5.
Sophomore outfielder Kristen Romero had a stellar game producing three RBIs and sophomore catcher Gabby Fordiani had two RBIs. Sophomore pitcher Reina Trejo had one RBI and on the mound she had one strikeout and three runs allowed.
At the top of the fourth inning EC and the Mounties were tied 3-3. Two runs by freshman center fielder Arleen Alvarez and sophomore shortstop Tori Garcia pushed the Warriors to the lead.
By the sixth inning the Mounties were trailing 7-5. At the top of the seventh inning Fordiani hit her sixth home run of the season.
In another play, Alvarez lined out to the infield, sophomore second baseman Marissa Padilla got out on third, and sophomore first baseman Danielle Bonsky scored bringing the lead up to nine.
EC has won four games in a row and their next game is a doubleheader at Fullerton. The Warriors face the hosts first followed by L.A. Valley College on March 7 at 11:00 a.m and 3 p.m. respectively.
