In a tough match up, the EC Warriors defeated East L.A. College 2-1 in seven innings.The Warriors continued their winning streak beating East L.A. College.
East L.A College scored their first run at the bottom of the second inning but the Warriors didn’t let that discourage them.
When it was EC’s turns at bat at the Warriors came out strong. At the bottom of the third inning the bases were loaded and there were two outs when sophomore first baseman Danielle Bonsky came up to bat.
Bonsky hit the ball to the outfield out field and earned an RBI when sophomore shortstop Tori Garcia ran home from third base and scoring the team’s first run.
The Warriors and East L.A battled it out after that with neither team scoring until sophomore second baseman Marissa Padilla hit the ball to center field getting the RBI and sending sophomore third baseman Jacqueline Gonzalez home to score.
The Warriors remain undefeated in their conference and will play a doubleheader on Feb. 20. They’ll face San Diego Mesa College at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
