The softball team came out swinging when they battled against the EC Compton Center in their second conference game .
The Warriors beat Compton Center 7-1 in seven innings at home. Both teams remained deadlocked until the bottom of the second inning when sophomore short-stop Tori Garcia doubled to center field sending sophomore second baseman Marissa Padilla home to score a run.
The Warriors picked up the momentum scoring two more runs at the bottom of the third. The Warriors continued to hold their lead over the Compton center; scoring four more runs at the bottom of the fourth . By the top of the fifth and with the EC Compton Center at bat the Warriors led to 7-1.
Sophomore outfielder Kristen Romero had a incredible game scoring two runs and stealing home. Romero also had two RBI’s. Freshman pitcher Sierra Gabriel had nine strikeouts and sophomore catcher Gabby Fordiani scored two runs and had one RBI.
In their conference, the Warriors remain undefeated 2-0. Overall, the Warriors record is 7-4. Their next game is Feb. 17 when they play against East Los Angeles College at home at 3:00 p.m.
