The candidates for the El Camino College presidency will participate in public forums/board interviews on Oct. 5-6. according to a special meeting of the board of trustees on Wednesday.
The search committee interviewed 12 candidates over the weekend and after deliberation has reduced the number of candidates to five finalists, according to an update given to the board from Community College Search Services (CCSS) Managing partner James Walker.
The original window for the forums was Sept. 28- Oct. 2, but was pushed back due to a scheduling conflict for one of the candidates.
The public forum/board interviews will take place over two days, with the first three candidates interviewing on Monday, and the last two interviewing on Tuesday.
Each candidate will spend an hour at the forum, and 75 minutes interviewing with the board.
Students, faculty, and the entire college community are encouraged to meet the candidates at the public forums, which start at 10 a.m. on Monday, and 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the campus theater.
