The Warriors softball team came out on top when they battled against Pasadena City College (PCC).
The Warriors faced tough competition defeating PCC 11-6 in seven innings.
The Warriors scored two runs in the first inning when sophomore short stop Tori Garcia scored on a error by PCC pitcher Breanna Rodrigo. Sophomore utility player Reina Trejo scored on RBI by sophomore first baseman Danielle Bonsky.
For the next three inning the Warriors and Pasadena exchanged runs. The game remained close until the fifth inning when EC scored seven runs. Sophomore catcher Gabby Fordiani hit a home run two right field gaining two RBIs and Trejo ran home to score.
The Warriors kept up the momentum; sophomore out fielder Samantha Lauro and sophomore second baseman Marissa Padilla scored. The Warriors were on fire and Pasadena could not keep up. Trejo, who had three RBIs in this inning, hit a double to left field letting sophomore outfielder Kathy Orozco and Garcia score.
EC never wavered and remained in the lead capturing the win. The Warriors’ next game will be a home game on Tuesday against Compton Center at 3 p.m.
