Lady Warriors score four goals in water polo loss to Chaffey College

The Lady Warriors (1-11) water polo team lost 17-4 at home against Chaffey College on Monday, Oct. 8. This team of mostly freshmen is riding through a streak of eleven losses. Their last victory goes back to the first game of the season, when they beat Rio Hondo College 8-7 on Sept. 5.

The visiting Panthers got off to a strong start by scoring the first six goals of the match, a deficit from which the Lady Warriors were not able to recover in spite of their efforts.

Sonni Garcia provided the highlights for EC with three unassisted goals, two of which she scored in the final period. Ysabella Estrella scored another unassisted goal in the second period. All four EC goals were on power plays.

Isabelle Suter and Breana Vander Broek combined for eleven goals for the Panthers, with four other players sharing the other six Chaffey goals.

The Lady Warriors next game is at home on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 3 p.m. against the East Los Angeles College Huskies.
