The Cerritos College Falcons men’s baseball sharpened their talons for the face off they had with the El Camino College Warriors.
Warriors 11-game wining streak came to an end with a decisive ninth-inning blowout which had the Falcons returning to the nest with a 5-3 victory.
The South Coast Conference match at the ECC baseball field Thursday, April 9, was the second of three games that would be taking place between the Warriors and the Falcons from Tuesday, April 7, and Friday, April 10.
After a five inning stalemate, Falcons outfielder Jacob Curnean scored the first run. The Warriors quickly caught up at the bottom of the six with two runs made by infielders Nolan Fox and Slater Nunez.
Both teams entered the 9th inning with a 3-3 tie that was broken by a two-run hit by Falcons infielder Michael Patterson.
As a result of Patterson’s hit, the Falcons shattered the Warriors win streak that began Saturday, March 14, against LA Harbor College.
The Union sent photographer Brande Mathews to capture the decisive moments of the game.
