El Camino’s men’s volleyball team (8-7 overall, 5-3 in the Western State Conference) went on the road yesterday to pick up a much needed win against the L.A. Pierce Brahmas, 3-1 in sets (23-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-19).
Long Beach City College sits atop the standings untouched at 7-0, Santa Monica College is right behind at 6-2, EC is third at 5-3 and Moorpark is fourth at 4-4; and despite the early season struggles, the Warriors have begun to look better and better.
Unfortunately for the Brahmas, the loss puts L.A. Pierce at 4-11 overall and 1-5 in the conference and the team is officially out of playoff contention.
EC is on the road against the L.A. Trade Tech College Beavers on Friday at 6 p.m.
Before the last match, freshman libero Eric Veliz said, “It should be an easy win.”
