The men’s and women’s track team looked to win as they competed in the conference finals on Tuesday.
In the men’s 10,000-meter, Alex Villaescusa came in 5th place with a personal best time 32:52.27. In the men’s 3,000-meter, Mike Guizer came in 6th place with a personal best time of 10:15.20. Anthony Lewis and David Rosales qualified in the men’s 1500-meter with a time of 4:10.12 taking the number stop in the relay. Climonte Blackman qualifies number 2 in the men’s 800-meter with a personal best time of 1:56.88.
Victor Martin was leading qualifier in the men’s shot put (43-8). “I think my performance was subpar but I got the job done,” Martin said.
In the women’s triple jump, Rukayah Bent-Mikail was the Conference Champion for the 2nd time with a jump of 38-10 ½. Ruby Davis had a personal best jump of 35-6 and she placed 4th. Rukayah also qualified 3rd in both the Women’s 400m time of 58.82. Ronisha Vallery qualified 2nd in both the women’s 400m with a time of 57.77 and in the long jump with a length of 17-3 ¾.
