Since the last reported case on Dec. 14, 2020, there have been 17 more COVID-19 positive cases on the El Camino College campus, bringing the total number of cases to 37.
ECC also announced that the upper level of parking lot F on campus would be used as a mass vaccination site for Los Angeles County essential workers, by appointment, from Jan. 9 through Feb. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This vaccination site was only to vaccinate essential healthcare workers that have been selected by Los Angeles County, but was then opened to people ages 65 and older starting Jan. 23.
The site was temporarily closed until Feb. 10, and since it opened for second vaccine dose appointments for the rest of February.
All information on cases that occurred at El Camino and the confirmation that all locations that the individuals had been to on campus were disinfected, were obtained via emails from ECC Student Information.
- Dec. 29, 2020, one case of COVID-19. Confirmed on Dec. 28, 2020 and last on campus Dec. 16, 2020.
- Dec. 31, 2020, one case of COVID-19 confirmed. Last on campus Dec. 23, 2020 and was considered non-infectious when last on campus based on the current Health Officer Order from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
- Jan. 4, three cases of COVID-19 confirmed. All three last seen on campus Dec. 23, 2020.
- Jan. 10, two cases of COVID-19. One last on campus Jan. 4, the other last on campus Jan. 7.
- Jan. 11, one case of COVID-19 confirmed. Last on campus on Dec. 29, 2020.
- Jan. 12, one case of COVID-19 confirmed. Last on campus on Jan. 11.
- Jan. 13, one case of COVID-19 confirmed. Last on campus on Jan. 8 and visited the ECC bookstore.
- Jan. 14, one case of COVID-19. Individual tested positive same day reported. Last on campus Jan. 7.
- Jan. 18, four cases of COVID-19. Each individual tested positive on Jan. 14, 15, 17, and 18. Last on campus either Jan. 11 or Jan. 13.
- Jan. 25, one case of COVID-19 confirmed. Last on campus Jan. 19 and visited the ECC Bookstore building.
- Jan. 27, one case of COVID-19 confirmed. Last on campus Jan. 17 and visited the Campus Police building.
- Feb. 4, one case of COVID-19 confirmed. Last on campus Feb. 3 and visited the Facilities building.
All individuals are to observe the required minimum 10-day isolation at home in accordance with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
El Camino College asks its students and employees to follow the directions given by public health and elected officials during this outbreak, which includes obeying Stay-at-Home orders from Los Angeles County and the State of California, as well as following correct social distancing practices and maintaining proper hygiene.
