Despite inefficient shooting and a lack of ball control, the EC men’s basketball team (6-12, 2-2) found a way to make Wednesday night’s game against the Pasadena City Lancers (9-12, 2-2) interesting before ultimately losing 69-61.
Even while shooting 33.3% from the field, 23.8% from behind the arc and 57.1% from the line, the Warriors found themselves within five points of the Lancers near the end of the game.
Freshman forward Kane Wildermuth led the Warriors with 17 points, while freshman guard Ryan Hart chipped in 14 points off the bench. Freshman forward, Emmanuel Pope, helped to make up for his 1-10 shooting by finishing the game with a game-high 15 rebounds.
The Warriors struggled all game with the full court press of the Lancers, finishing with 18 turnovers to only 10 assists. EC attempted to right the ship by forcing 20 Lancer turnovers of their own.
The Warriors will host East Los Angeles College (12-9, 2-2 at press) Friday Jan. 30 at 5 p.m.
