The El Camino women’s soccer team extended their losing streak to six games on Friday, Oct. 19 at Mt. San Antonio College.
The game ended in a 3-0 loss for EC.
No goals were scored from either side during the first half of the game.
During the second half, however, three goals were scored by Mt. SAC, putting them in the lead for a sixth win of the season.
Alyssa Gomez (No.14), scored the first goal of the game in the 56th minute.
Liani Sanchez (No.12), and Marissa Amaya (No.3), followed close behind with another two goals for the Mounties in the 74th and 77th minute.
In the first 78 minutes of the game, EC goalie, Joelle Niimi (No.14), saved 8 goals from Mt. Sac, while Rosemary Montalvo (No.1), saved two in the final 12 minutes.
“The team played a very strong first hour, creating some scoring opportunities in the 90-degree heat before Mt. SAC opened the scoring,” EC coach John Britton said. “But then, unfortunately, fatigue and a lack of strength on the bench facilitated El Camino, giving up a soft two goals in the final 15 minutes.”
The Warriors will play their next game against Chaffey College at home on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 2 p.m.
