El Camino’s women’s soccer team (6-10-4) fell 3-1 to Cerritos College (17-0-3) in its final away game of the season on Tuesday.
EC will wrap up its 2015 season this Friday at home against Mt. San Antonio. The Falcons on the other hand are moving into the playoffs.
In Tuesday’s game, EC played strong and gave the Falcons a battle, coach John Britton said.
“We actually played well but couldn’t score in the first half even with the strong wind at our backs,” Britton said. “Lack of aggression and failure to clear the goal area cost us two goals.”
EC only allowed two goals in the first half. Sophomore midfielder Rocio Najera scored the only goal for the Warriors.
“Overall EC had a good game,” sophomore midfielder Tonya Gonzalez said. “We missed our chances to score. Next game will be sad for some players because it’s our last season on the soccer team. We will play strong and leave it all out on the field”
The Warriors’ next and final game of the season is Friday against Mt. San Antonio at 3 p.m.
