The Warriors’ women’s soccer team earned its first win of the season with a 2-0 victory against Santa Ana College on Friday, according to cccaasports.org.
Freshman midfielder Sarina Ferlazzo gave the Warriors a 1-0 lead in the 48th minute after a scoreless first half from both teams. Ferlazzo dribbled through the defense, created her own shot, and scored past the goalie.
The Dons’ offense attempted six shots throughout the game, while their defense had six saves combined.
In the 90th minute, freshman midfielder Miranda Ramirez scored and gave the Warriors a 2-0 lead and victory over Santa Ana.
EC hands the Dons’ soccer team their first loss of the season. The Warriors’ record is 1-2-1, while Santa Ana stands at 3-1-0.
The Warriors will travel to Mira Costa on Wednesday, and kickoff is at 2 p.m.
