As the season progresses, the El Camino beach volleyball team currently boasts an 8-0 record overall, with the only other undefeated team being Cabrillo (4-0 overall).
Golden West is pumping up at 7-1 (the only loss was to EC) and Grossmont leads its conference with the highest wins of any team, having nine and just one loss.
All said and done, the Warriors can be compared to those teams as one of the best during the season so far.
Here are the match scores for the win against Orange Coast College:
- No. 5 pair of Brooklyn Rubio, freshman, and Jewel Yandall, sophomore take care of business in a 21-5 and 21-10 straight-set win.
- No. 4 pair of freshmen Jessica Dow and Victoria Curtice clean up house in a 21-9 and 21-12 victory.
- No. 3 pair of Brooke Russell, sophomore, and Taylor Brydon, freshman, lost in full sets to their OCC counterparts, 21-18, 8-21 and 13-15.
- While the No. 2 pair of Michelle Shimamoto and Nickeisha Williams, both sophomores, came up big with a 21-15 and 21-18 win to push the Warriors to the win.
- No. 1 pair of Layne Thompson and Sadie Fraker were not to be outdone as the sophomore pair finished their match with a 21-15 and 21-16 win.
