With the El Camino beach volleyball team starting up its season on Friday, the pairs have been set by coach Le Valley Pattison.
In this series, the Warriors five pairs will be highlighted.
The team will begin its season against Long Beach City College and Cypress College on March 4 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sand Courts.
The first of the newest beach volleyball pairs enjoys a nice sense of camaraderie from a freshman and a former reserve.
Golden West import Jewel Yandall, sophomore, has come into her own after riding the bench last year and with her new-found trust in freshman Brooklyn Rubio expects to take it as far as possible this year.
“I feel pretty good and I’m pretty confident with my partner Jewel,” Rubio said.
The two of them will make up the No. 5 pair in this year’s starting line-up.
“I trust her more than I trust myself,” Yandall said.
