El Camino soccer team bounces back after a disappointed loss against Pasadena City college by beating Mt. San Antonio College 4-2 led by the freshman Andy Nunez scoring 2 goals.

“I was able to play good against a top team because before the game started my coach told me that i had to be physically and mentally tough to play against a top team like Mt. Sac,” Andy Nunez said.

El Camino scored 2 goals in the first half to give them a lead of 2-0, Nunez scored 1 of the 2 goals. “When i scored the goal it felt like a big weight was lifted off my shoulders,” Nunez added.
In the 60 minute the freshman Nunez scores another goal to give the team a comfortable lead of 3-0.
“Mt. Sc is always a smart and technical team but today we just out worked them,” Andredavy Cervantes said.
Towards the end of the game Mt. San Antonio scored 2 goals but that wasn’t enough as the warriors come up victorious 4-2.

The warriors knew they had to win to make a statement by beating a top team like Mt. San Antonio. “Its something special knowing we have the level to play against the top team in California,” Angel Lomeli said.

The team played with passion something they did not show in the previous games.
“We played with heart and we all had a talk before the game and that motivated us,” Lomeli added.
The Coaches were a big factor in this game as well keeping the players focus and ready for the game.
“Coaches did a good job of preparing and motivating us for this big game,” Cervantes said.
Everyone was pleased with the teams performance especially the coach John Britton.
“We were 100% committed to win and we got a result we thoroughly deserved,” Britton said.

The starters are getting help as the bench continues its amazing performances coming in the game and doing there job playing well.
“Many players coming off the bench came in hungry to win and that gave the team energy to continue working,” Cervantes added.

The coach felt that the warriors had chances to win the game by more goals.
“Actually we should have won by more,” Britton added.

The team seems to be more united and playing well soccer with strong confidence in each other.
“This game gives us a lot of confidence in our season and makes us a little more hungry to win more games,” Nunez added.

The warriors will hope to carry their momentum as they travel Tuesday October 8 to play Cerritos College at 2:00p.m. seeking to bring back home a victory against another top team.
