Monday, Oct. 3 at 11:03 a.m. A vandalism occurred on the first floor of the Math Business Allied Health Building. Officers received a report that someone had shattered the the inner part of a double-pane glass window. There aren’t any witnesses at the moment to comment on the crime and the surveillance camera did not capture anything.
Monday, Oct. 3 at 3:52 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 7 at 5:02 p.m. Two hit-and-run accidents occurred in the campus parking lots. On Monday, Oct. 3, a female student said another driver collided into her vehicle in Lot L. The driver’s side door received minor damages. On Friday, Oct. 7, another female said someone collided into her vehicle in Lot H. The passenger side of the student’s car received minor damages. No footage was taken at either scene.
Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 12:06 a.m. A suspicious male was reported walking around campus near the Life Science Building. Officers reported that he wasn’t able to answer basic questions, but did tell them he wanted to harm himself. He was then transferred to a local hospital under protective custody for a 72-hour psychological evaluation.
Thursday, Oct. 6 at 12:47 p.m. A male student injured his right ankle while participating in his PE basketball class. The instructor was present when the incident happened. He was transported to a local hospital. A report was also sent to the Office of Safety and Health.
Saturday, Oct. 8 at 2:39 p.m. A female non-student was stopped by an officer on Manhattan Beach Blvd. for an equipment violation. She was given a citation for driving with a suspended drivers license. The vehicle was released to her friend who arrived to the scene.
Saturday, Oct. 8 at 6:40 p.m. Officers responded to a fire-alarm activation in the Student Activities Center. The officers on duty checked for fire and smoke but did not find any. They then located a used fire extinguisher at the base of the staircase leading to the boiler room. The officers at the scene then went down to the boiler room and found that it was full of the suppressing agent from the fire extinguisher.
