Sept. 26, 2 p.m. ECPD received a 911 call coming from the Admissions Office regarding a male subject pounding on the door and using profanity. When officers arrived on scene, the subject was uncooperative and directed profanity and racial slurs toward the officers. The subject was handcuffed and placed under arrest but continued to resist the officers. One of the officers deployed his taser, but it didn’t hit the subject properly and didn’t have any effect. Officers called paramedics to take the subject to a local hospital. He was cleared from the hospital and officers proceeded to book him in a local police station, but he was bailed out before he could be detained.
Sept. 24, 11:05 a.m. A male student reported that he was robbed two days prior. The student said that he was sitting on the steps located on the east side of the Humanities Building. He said that two unidentified male subjects approached him and one of them punched him in the jaw, knocking him to the ground. One of the subjects kicked him while he was on the ground and stole his backpack. The student went home and his mother took him to a local hospital to treat his jaw.
Sept. 24, 10:45 a.m. A 911 call informed ECPD that a male subject was kicking a door in the Student Services Building. Officers entered and encountered a male subject who appeared to be agitated and distressed. The subject, a non-student, told the officers that people were trying to kill him. He was handcuffed immediately and detained. A folding knife was located in the subject’s pants pocket. The subject was subsequently taken to protective custody for mental evaluation and transported to a local hospital.
Sept. 18, 1:30 a.m. A female was found unconscious in her car on the east side of Lot C. The female subject eventually became conscious but disoriented. The subject was not a student and did not know where she was or what day it was. Paramedics were immediately notified and arrived on scene. The female was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for further evaluation.
Sept. 17, 12:53 p.m. Officers responded to the first level of Lot H to assist a cadet who was towing a vehicle that was parked in a handicapped spot. The owner and his friend arrived prior to the car being towed. Neither student would comply with the officers’ instructions to hand over the keys to the vehicle and leave the scene. Both students were arrested for obstructing an officer in the performance of his duties and disturbing the peace. They were transported and booked to a local police department.
Sept. 17, 10:25 a.m. A male student was in the library doing an assignment for one of his classes. He left his backpack containing his laptop computer unattended and it was stolen.
