The El Camino College Police Department released its annual report of statistics of crimes reported on campus today.
The college is required to release the statistics of crimes reported to the police department every Oct. 1 to be in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Act.
Motor vehicle thefts and liquor law violations on campus are the two areas that have seen a significant increase from the past year, according to the report.
Motor vehicle thefts increased from three in 2013 to 7 in 2014. Liquor law violations increased to four after not having any for the past two years, according to the report.
Public areas bordering the campus have also seen an increase in motor vehicles thefts. 2013 had one report and 2014 had three reported, according to the report.
