A 20-year-old non-El Camino student claimed to have been raped in an apartment on Redondo Beach Boulevard in Torrance near El Camino on the evening of March 13, police said.
The victim had been drinking with friends earlier that day, and later that night she reported being raped, Torrance Police Sgt. Paul Kranke said.
“After the incident happened she flagged down an ECPD officer who then contacted the Torrance Police Department,” Kranke said.
Reading from the police report, Kranke said the victim said that she knew the individual but the sex was not consensual.
Kranke said the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office looked into the case and has decided to not file charges.
“The incident did not occur on El Camino’s campus,” ECPD Sgt. Dal Toruno said.
He added that it happened in the Torrance area.
