A non-appearance hearing for the student who is accused of threatening the school was had in order to prepare for the April 6 trial.

Defense attorney Jonathan Cruz asked the courts to “subpoena the medical records” of James Lemus.

But district attorney Patrick O’Crowley said, “The intent to put his mental state in the trial is not an issue.”

Judge Eric C. Taylor allowed the records to remain in court, but will be open to both sides.

All three parties then left the courtroom after confirming that the trial will begin April 6.
