The 13-2 men’s volleyball team visited the 10-3 Long Beach City College Vikings (LBCC), on Friday night, hoping to bounce back after being swept by Santa Monica at home earlier this week.
The Warriors failed to show up at all against the Vikings and were swept on the road, 0-3 in sets on Friday.
LBCC looked for a chance to climb the standings to catch El Camino, and on Friday night they showed up.
The Warriors are now 13-3 overall and fall to 6-3 in the conference.
El Camino retains second place but LBCC is hot on their heels as they climbed to 5-3 in conference play, only half a game behind the Warriors.
The series is now tied at 1-1 on the season, and El Camino must win all three of their final games if they want to keep sole possession of second place.
The Warriors host Moorpark and Santa Barbara and then end their season visiting L.A. Trade Tech.
El Camino must put this game behind them if they hope to end their two-game skid.
The Warriors beat Moorpark in their first meeting 3-0 and El Camino will look to replicate that result when they host them on April 1.
