The men’s volleyball team (9-1) headed to Moorpark College to face the Raiders (1-5) on March 6.
Despite the difference in records, the Raiders did not fall easily. Even though Moorpark was swept, it took them three long and hard fought sets before going down.
The Warriors were looking to continue their new win streak after beating Long Beach on March 3. They won 25-21 in set one which set up the rest of the night.
The Raiders’ 23 attacking errors with just 28 kills over three sets hurt them badly as they fell in set two, 25-22.
The Warriors’ 30 overall errors kept this game closer than it should have been but EC hustled through those errors and won set three, 25-21.
The Warriors are now 3-1 in conference play and 10-1 overall. They are currently the only team in both the Pacific Coast and Western State conferences to record double-digit wins.
However, the loss to the Santa Monica Corsairs (SMC) has them in second place with SMC in sole possession with a 3-0 conference record.
The Warriors can continue their new win streak when they host Santa Barbara College on March 11.
