The 8-1 men’s volleyball team defeated the 6-1 Long Beach City College Vikings (LBCC) Wednesday night.
Sophomore outside hitter Casey Wood came out dominated the competition leading all scorers with 17 kills and only seven errors.
The Warriors won the match 3-1 in sets, all of which were closely contested.
Long Beach fought to win after losing set one, 21-25. However, set two did not go their way as the Warriors lost 24-26.
The visiting team struggled with 26 attacking errors, 13 service errors and 11 blocking errors. Despite that, LBCC managed to beat the Warriors in set three 25-19.
The Warriors did not allow the comeback to become a reality as they tacked on 14 kills with only three errors to close out the match 25-19 in the set four.
EC is now 9-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play. They play at Moorpark College on Friday, March 6.
