The Warriors’ baseball team traveled back to San Bernardino (SB) Thursday for the second out of three game series, shutting them out 5-0.
The Warriors recorded an impressive 16 hits against SB pitcher Brandon Conlin, the biggest hitters on the day being short stop Fred Smith and left fielder Alex Turner, the former recording four hits and the latter recording three hits and one RBI.
The Warriors scored early in the top of the second inning when first baseman Jake Sahagia scored off of an error by SB pitcher Conlin. They followed it up immediately when left fielder Alex Turner hit a single to center field, bringing in catcher Ricardo Serrano for an early 2-0 lead.
The Warriors would later score in the top of the sixth inning, when third baseman Tyler Martizia recorded a single to center field, bringing in right fielder Jonathan Pasillas for the score. The next run would be recorded in the next play, when center fielder Keyon Allen singled to center field, bringing in Alex Turner for a 4-0 lead.
The last run for the Warriors would be scored in the top of the eighth by Alex Turner off of a wild pitch followed by an error from the catcher, giving the final 5-0 lead for the win.
The Warriors increase their record to 5-2, and play San Bernadino one more time at home Saturday Feb. 14.
