Women’s volleyball team lose second game of ECC three-way tournament 3-1

The El Camino College Warriors women’s volleyball team lost to Grossmont College 3-1 in their second game of their annual three-way tournament.

The ECC Warriors took the first set 25-23 against Grossmont.

ECC Warriors’ outside hitter Mikayla Clark tallied 18 kills while Grossmont’s Shaney Lipscomb had 21 kills. After falling behind early in the second and third sets, ECC was unable to catch Grossmont losing the second set 25-18 and the third 25-15.

The ECC Warriors were more competitive in the fourth set but ultimately lost 25-22.

“Today we were more steady and really playing hard,” ECC Warriors’ coach Liz Hazell said.

The next game for the ECC Warriors women’s volleyball team will be at Orange Coast College on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 6 p.m.
