Women’s soccer team was unable to come back after 3-0 deficit
The Warriors played a very good second half, but were unable to overcome a 3-0 deficit and lost to East L.A. College 3-1.
“I definitely think it wasn’t our best game. The other team wanted it more and we didn’t try our best in the first half and that’s why we lost,” forward Itchel Guzman said.
Coming off its 3-0 victory over Pasadena College the team (9-1-3) wanted to keep up its winning ways, but unfortunately it came up a little short.
“Our heads weren’t in the right mind set,” center midfielder Becca Maeir said. “We didn’t take this game as seriously as we should have, and we were not communicating very well.”
Some Warriors felt that they didn’t play their game in the first half, but tied the game with a goal by Guzman in the second half.
Some good did come out of this game, as the Warriors will look to pick up on the things they did well.
“You always learn from a loss, and hopefully we can look at the positives and do better,” Guzman said.
Maier agreed with Guzamn that there were things the team learned.
“There is always good that can come out of games, and what came out of this game was that we now know how to be stronger in the next game,” Maier added.
With a better second half, the Warriors will get back to the practice field to work on some things that went wrong during the first half.
“I think we need to give it our all the entire game, not just the second half,” Guzman said.
The Warriors will look to get back to their winning ways when they travel to play Long Beach College on Tuesday. The game will start at 4 p.m.
