How did you get into a position with Fox Sports?

I went to a USC basketball game in Staples Center, where I knew one of the members. After the game, I went down and asked the people, “How I can get an internship with Fox Sports.” They gave me the number of a guy named Lev; he asked me to go for an interview, and I passed.

What did they ask about during the interview?

They asked me about my knowledge in sports.

How long have you been working there since the internship began?

Three months, since January.

What are the hours like?

I’m there from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

What do you do while you are there?

I put the tapes together, the bits and pieces for the show. I also watch previous games and type them up and save them on the computer.

Is it a paid or unpaid internship?

It’s unpaid.

Do you have a passion for sports?

Yes. I play softball, I watch football games, softball games and basketball games.

What do you hope to accomplish from this internship?

I hope to get a job at Fox.

How does having a mass media class help achieve you goals?

It teaches me a lot as to society’s view and how basically a sports reporter works. The class also showed me insights into the people I look up to.

What is your goal as a mass media student?

I hope to be a sports broadcaster.

What does this internship do for you?

It puts my foot in the door and makes people aware that this is what I want to do.

How does your family support you while you go through this?

They were very excited after they knew about it and took me out to dinner. My father bought me sports magazines so that I can keep updated.
