‘Massacre-threat’ trial unable to set preliminary date

After being scheduled for a morning hearing, the “massacre-threat” trial was delayed until an afternoon session and the case was moved to a Dec. 2 hearing date, Deputy District Attorney, Patrick O’Crowley said.

The alleged threats came from James Lemus, 36, a former El Camino student who has been in jail since November 2014.

“Nothing happened,” O’Crowley said. “The case just got put over, they’re still trying to accomplish what we did back (in the last hearing).

During the last meeting the attorneys, public defender and the judge tried to set up a preliminary hearing date for the new case.

This is the second-straight time that Lemus has been scheduled for a morning-court date but was postponed until the afternoon. The first time was because he “missed the bus” and the this time because the other court cases were not finished on time, the court-clerk said.
