Student organization meets to discuss campus items
Update: March 13, 5:01 p.m. Kimberly Garcia’s position has been corrected to “Student Trustee” from “Vice President”.
The school’s associated student organization hosted their regular meeting for the public and their committee members to speak on campus issues on Thursday, March 12.
The ASO talked about campus issues and the moving of funds from their accounts, but several things said were of major importance.
President Rafeed Kahn took some time to explain to everyone that the “old tech building” will be demolished during the summer and that the north side of campus will be shut down around the C parking lot.
He added that this will affect those who park in that area, during and after construction.
Several accounts had funds moved during the meeting, such as $300 being motioned and moved in order to assist the upcoming presidential elections.
“The funds will be used for candy and chips and such to pass out to people in order to gain their attention to vote,” Kahn said.
Student Trustee Kimberly Garcia announced that the ICC and ASO End of the Year Banquet will be happening on April 24 in the East Dining Room. This is an event that will give awards to clubs and recognize what they have done for the campus.
