The Warriors’ men’s soccer team were unable to find its first win in conference play after getting shut out, 5-0, at Long Beach City College last Friday.
Freshman team captain Andy Marin said the Warriors’ offense made a lot of defensive errors.
“We had a lot of trouble building offense,” Marin said. “The clearest chances on goal we had were from set pieces. We always want to keep a positive attitude, even if we concede goals early.”
The Vikings scored two goals in the first half, and three goals in the first minutes of the second half. They out-shot the Warriors with a total of 17 attempts on goal, while El Camino finished the game with six.
“It didn’t go our way,” sophomore forward Jose Contreras said. “Now we are just looking forward on not making the same mistakes and preparing for our next game which is against a tough opponent.”
The Warriors will host L.A. Harbor College Tuesday at 4 p.m.
