With four games left in conference, every win is crucial for women’s soccer (4-5-2 in conference).
On Tuesday, they lost to East Los Angeles College (7-1-3 in conference) with a final score of 2-1. In their last game on Oct. 9, the match ended in a draw.
EC’s playoff run now depends on how other teams finish their season. Defensively they have been strong all year, but offensively they have struggled.
“We have not been consistent all season,” assistant coach Jessica Murphy said. “It’s the little things, sometimes it’s luck.”
EC wasn’t playing their usual game against ELAC.
“We were not passing to each other like we usually do,” sophomore midfielder Tonya Gonzalez said. “They outplayed us.”
Freshman Kelsey Orseth scored the only goal for the Warriors against ELAC. Orseth believes that next season will be better for them.
“We have so much talent in this team, it’s unfortunate that things didn’t work out like we wanted it to,” Orseth said.
The Warriors’ next game is at home on Friday against rival L.A. Harbor. Kickoff is 3 p.m.
