El Camino men’s soccer earned its first win of the season with a 3-1 win over Santa Ana College on Friday, according to cccaasports.org, improving its record to 1-3-0 for the season.
EC took a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute with a goal to the far post by freshman midfielder Everardo Cadenas. In the 19th minute, sophomore forward Manuel Paez scored on a similar shot to the far post to give the Warriors a 2-0 advantage.
Santa Ana College forward Jose Contreras scored on a long pass in the 34th minute to trim the Warriors’ lead to 2-1.
The Warriors added its third goal in the 52nd minute on a shot by sophomore forward Edgar Esquival, sealing their victory at 3-1.
EC finished the match with 17 total shots and five saves, according to cccaasports.org.
The Warriors’ next match is at Golden West College on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 3:00 p.m.
