The Warriors’ women’s soccer team opened its 2015 season with a 2-1 loss at Chaffey College, according to cccaasports.org.
The Panthers took a 1-0 lead at the 15-minute mark, on Anna Pinedo’s goal. EC received a gift eight minutes later when Tonya Gonzalez scored a goal to equalize the score at 1-1.
Heather Melgar gave the Panthers a 2-1 lead with a goal at the 70th minute, sealing the victory for Chaffey College.
EC finished the game with six shots and 36 saves, according to cccaasports.org.
The Warriors will travel to Santa Monica College on Friday, Sept. 4. The match kicks off at 3 p.m.
