The women’s soccer team lost to Pasadena City College 5-1 at Robinson Stadium this past Tuesday.
“The defeat was of our own making,” John Britton, soccer coach said.
Four of the five goals scored were due plays that the Warriors had set up and then failed to “mark” the opposing players, Britton said.
Britton added that the act of “marking” opposing players on the field is a basic skill but the Warriors just couldn’t seem to pull it off correctly in the game.
Three of the goals scored by Pasadena were headed in after the Warriors’ defenders left them open and the offense took the opportunity.
Britton added that the game was lost because the Warriors were not making opportunities but they were giving them up.
