With another crushing victory under the Warriors belt, they continue to fight for first place.
The Warriors beat Moorpark College at a home game on Friday 25-22, 25-22, 25-20, giving them a 5-1 conference record, and putting them in first by default with one more win than Long Beach, who was idle for a game.
“I’d say we’re tied for first with Long Beach,” Coach Richard Blount said. He explained that he didn’t think it would be fair to say that we’re in first place, because the only reason we were there was by a technicality.
Hunter Hovland, outside hitter, had 5 kills and 5 blocks on his own.
Blount said Trevor Butler, Outside Hitter, had a great night against Moorpark. He had 16 kills, and a .464 Attack percentage.
As a whole, the team finished with 44 kills.
“We started great, 19-10 at one point, then we relaxed and they got it up to 19-17, and we realized that we were in a tough game.” Blount said. Tough game or not, however, the Warriors managed to pull through with another victory.
The Warriors will be competing to rightfully maintain their top spot on April 4 at Santa Barbara at 6 p.m.
