Going up against one of the top teams in the state the men and women were unable to overcome slow starts.

The men’s team found themselves in the deep end of the pool after going down 12-3 in the first half.

The team would end up losing the game, 20-8 in its last home game of the season.

With the loss the team remains winless in conference play (4-7, 0-3). 

Alex Ortiz led the team with two goals. 

The men will look to finish the season strong when they travel to face Chaffey College next Wednesday in their last game of the season.

The women’s water polo team also lost in its last home of the season, 13-5 against Mt.Sac.

Unable to overcome 11 first half goals by the Mounties, the women couldn’t come back and salvage the victory.

The women’s record is now (6-9, 1-4) going into its last game next Wednesday when it travels to face Chaffey College at  3 p.m.

Shanese Douglas who moved to goalie this season has continued to improve despite losses.

She was able to tally five saves in front of the net.

The highlight of the last week for the women came in the team’s win over Pasadena College this weekend at the Citrus Tournament.

“That was a huge win for us,” coach Corey Stanbury, said. “That’s a really good team.”

Going up against faster players has been the team’s Achille’s Heel for the Warriors and both teams will look to change this when they face the play for the last time this season.
